New Arrivals Yearlings 2 Year Olds 3 Year Olds 4 Years & Older HORSES FOR SALE: 2 YEAR OLDS Riding begins after two years of age. Work to this point has been primarily introduction of the rider and acclimation to the new environment. Rides are still kept to short durations and typically occur every 3 days. Cross-country terrain is the primary focus for riding. This terrain helps the horse become accustomed to a rider in many different situations and with the shifting of the riders' weight on the back. Neck reigning. direct reigning, and other ques are also taught during the second year. Care is taken to not damage legs and knees while riding. Hard turning and cutting of a repetitive nature is avoided but cutting and turning is introduced late in the second year. DALLY Dally is great colt from our Coosa mare who leaves her mark on the head and neck. Since birth Dally has been extremely friendly and there is no need to catch him, he will catch you.
